A small production company with big ideas and a soft spot for the late, weird hours of analog horror.
Playhaus is a husband-and-wife production company in Fort Collins, Colorado. We make live theatre, interactive murder mysteries, and audio/video for clients who want their project to actually feel like something.
We started Playhaus because the work we wanted to make wasn't getting made: theatre that broke the fourth wall on purpose, mysteries where the audience did real detective work, films that took their aesthetic seriously. So we built a house for it.
The name is a wink. A "playhouse" is a theatre. A "haus" is the Bauhaus, the idea that design and craft and storytelling are the same job. Put them together and you get us.
Tech director and stage manager. Handles the boards, the logistics, and the part of production where things have to actually work. Also acting president of Bas Bleu Theatre Company.
Director and on-stage host. Shapes the room, runs the cast, and is usually the voice you hear when you walk through the door at a Playhaus event.
The fourth wall is a suggestion, not a rule. Our best work happens when the audience leans in.
Grain, color, and feel are not afterthoughts. The look of a thing is part of the story.
Northern Colorado is home. We cast locally, hire locally, and tell stories that fit this place.
